Privacy Policy
How Cool AI Photos collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Overview
Cool AI Photos is a mobile app, published by Engine Arc Interactive LTD ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in the United Kingdom, that transforms a photo you choose into a new image using AI style templates.
You can use almost all of Cool AI Photos without ever creating an account. When you first open the app, we set up an anonymous profile tied to your device so you can start transforming photos immediately. Creating an account with an email address is entirely optional and only adds the ability to keep your history if you switch phones.

We do not include advertising or analytics tracking software in Cool AI Photos, and we don't sell your data to anyone.
3. Your photos
Photos are the most sensitive thing you share with us, so we treat them differently from everything else:
- Metadata is stripped before upload. Location and other EXIF metadata is removed from your photo on your device, before it ever reaches our servers.
- The original photo you upload is deleted automatically within 24 hours. We only keep it long enough to generate your result.
- Your AI-generated result stays in your in-app gallery for 30–180 days depending on your account tier, after which it enters a 30-day recovery window before being permanently deleted.
- Your photos are never used to train AI models, and are never shown to other users.

4. Our legal basis for processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you're in the UK, EEA, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection law, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract — processing your photo and account data is necessary to provide the transformation service you request.
- Legitimate interests — device signals and server logs, used narrowly for fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and keeping the service secure.
- Consent — push notifications, which you can decline or turn off at any time in your device settings.
5. How we use it
We use the data above only to run the app: generating your transformed photo, keeping your free-trial and subscription status accurate, sending you a notification when a result is ready, and keeping the service secure and free of abuse. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not build profiles of you to sell or share.
6. Third parties we work with
A few specialist providers process data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments. We don't hand data to anyone beyond what each of them needs to do its job. Some of these providers are located outside the UK/EEA (including the United States); where that's the case, we rely on their standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards for the transfer.
- AI image processing (fal.ai) — your photo is sent to our AI generation provider only for the moment it takes to produce your result.
- Cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) — where photos are stored during the retention windows described above.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription and credit status across Apple and Google.
- Apple / Google push notification services — deliver the "your photo is ready" notification.
- Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchase — process all payments; see Purchases.
7. Purchases
All payments in Cool AI Photos go through Google Play Billing or Apple's In-App Purchase system. We never see or store your card number, bank details, or any other payment credential — that information stays with Apple or Google. We only receive confirmation of what you purchased and when it's active or expired, so we can unlock the right features on your account.
8. Your rights
You can, at any time:
- See what's on your account — from Settings in the app.
- Delete your account — Settings → Delete Account. This is immediate and cannot be undone; your saved results and account details are removed. See detailed instructions.
- Request a copy, correction, or restriction of your data, object to processing, or ask any question about this policy — email us at the address in Contact. We'll respond within a reasonable time and, in any case, no later than local law requires (one month under UK/EU GDPR).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Because most of the app works without an account, staying anonymous is itself a privacy option we designed in from the start — no email, no name, nothing tying transformations to your identity, unless you choose to register.
9. Children
Cool AI Photos is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a child has used the app and shared personal data with us, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit between the app and our servers. Passwords are never stored in plain text — only as a one-way hash that cannot be reversed. Access to production systems is limited to what's needed to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we design retention and access around collecting the least we can get away with.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
